Site Visitor Safety Orientation

Introduction/Policy:

Award Construction Ltd. is committed to a strong health and safety program that prevents losses of any kind. In fulfilling this commitment to protect both people and property, management will provide and maintain a healthy safe work environment in accordance with industry standards and in compliance with legislative requirements, and will strive to eliminate any foreseeable safety hazards which may result in property damage, incidents, or personal injury/illness.

As part of this commitment Award Construction Ltd. also takes steps to protect those visiting active work sites by having all visitors undergo an orientation before touring the site.

Please Note: This includes not only first-time visitors but also repeat visitors to jobsites. As worksites change frequently so do the hazards on site. to protect those visiting, orientations are compulsory for each visit to site.

All visitors must complete the following upon arrival:

  • All visitors must immediately sign in when entering the work In the case of an evacuationemergency, it tells us that you are onsite and need to be accounted for.
  • All visitors must go through a site orientation before touring the site: this is conducted by the

site foreman, safety coordinator, or project manager. Review of Award’s Health and Safety Policy & site emergency preparedness will be reviewed.

  • All visitors must wear pertinent PPE while on site. Hard hat and protective footwear mandatory. Hearing protection, safety vest, eye protection, may be required contingent on work being done on site.

For the duration of site visit all visitors must:

  • Stay with a site representative, either the supervisor or project manager. Touring the site alone can be dangerous and therefore is not permitted.
  • Abide by the site This includes but is not limited to: no smoking, no drugs or alcohol,

and no littering. any disregard for site rules may result in being asked to leave the premises.

  • All visitors onsite are required to abide by all applicable OH&S

Emergency Procedures:

An Award representative will show you the safe areas of the worksite after you have read and understand this form. During this walk through, you will be shown the whereabouts of the nearest fire extinguisher, first aid kit,eye wash station, muster point, SDS sheets and emergency contact numbers.

*If you have any questions or concerns, please communicate them during this orientation to avoid confusion in the event of an emergency.

 

I fully understand the contents of the Visitor Site Safety Orientation and agree to abide by it.

I am aware that any visitor who does not comply with these regulations may be dismissed from the worksite.
